Rev. Howard B. Gardner, 87, beloved patriarch of the Gardner family went to be with the Lord on Monday October 1, 2012. Born in Little Rock Arkansas. WWII veteran as recipient of 2 Bronze stars, purple heart and numerous other medals and citations for his unselfish service to our country. Survived by wife LaVerne, Son Jim Gardner and wife Cheryl, 2 daughters Susan Gardner McLerran and Cindy Gardner Martindale and husband Fred; Sister Mary Summers; grandchildren Bethany, Josh, Taylor, Stephanie, Amy, Erin, Adam, Hayley, Rachel, Whitney and Lauren; 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by parents Ray and Elizabeth Gardner and son Kenny Gardner. Services with Honors at 12:30 Friday October 5, 2012 at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. In lieu of flowers the Gardner family request donations to the Ministry of your choice in Rev. Gardner's name.
