Howard Oliver Worthen, 86, was born on January 9, 1931 in Alvin, Texas and passed away on June 2, 2017 in Conroe, Texas. Howard worked as a brick mason and was a member of Mims Baptist church since 1948 also he had been involved in the Masonic Lodge for 60 years. In 1984 Howard married Betty Mitchell. The two of them sang with the 'Country Classics' for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Ima Worthen; brother, Robert Worthen; Howard is survived by his wife, Betty Worthen; brothers, Marvin Worthen and wife Marcell, Thomas Worthen and wife Barbara, Nathan Worthen, Robert Worthen and wife Lisa; nephews, The Honorable Judge Jim Worthen, Perry Worthen and Forest Worthen; niece, Sarah Wilson; step-children, Melissa Hill, Michael Mitchell and Marie Tolliver; grandchildren, Jason Hill, David Mitchell, Dr. Jennifer Hill and Jessica Lopez; Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with the funeral service starting at 2:00pm, internment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park.
