Ilene Maxedon was born on October 9th 1930 in Clinchport, Va. to Henry and Stella Taylor. She went to walk with the Lord and be reunited with her husband Wendell and her son Leonard on October 11, 2012.

Ilene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conroe since 1973, where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for many years. She was a substitute teacher for CISD and later became a teacher at St James Episcopal Church where she taught for 16 years and then retired. After retiring from teaching, Ilene and her husband Wendell bought a mini storage business that she operated for over 15 years. Ilene loved to travel. She shared many memories with her husband traveling in their private plane all over the country. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to her time with her friends at "Ladies Lunch" every Friday and later the Gathering Place of Conroe (Alzheimer's Respite Care Ministries) on Thursdays, both of which brought her much joy.

Ilene leaves behind to cherish her memories, her daughters, Wendalene Maxedon Whited and husband Jay of Montgomery, TX; Linda Lorch and husband Dan of Clearwater Florida and; son, Rickey Maxedon and wife Cirila of Conroe, TX. Grandchildren, Scott Maxedon, Carl Maxedon, Remington Sherwood, Nathan Lorch, Redmond Sherwood, Rachael Sherwood, Cameron Maxedon, Chandlar Lorch, Logan Whited and Savanna Whited; great grandchildren, Deacon Maxedon, London Bradham; and Josiah Maxedon and lifetime loyal friends, Charlie and Pat Brown. Numerous other relatives and a host of loving friends also survive. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation in Ilene's name to:
