Iosif "József" Kovács of Cluj Napoca, Romania residing in Conroe, Texas, 65, went home peaceful to Heaven following a battle with cancer.

He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Aurelia Kovács; His daughter and son in law, Klara and Duncan Madison; His son, Karoly Kovács; His daughter and son in law, Andreea and Matthew Lester Born in Cluj Napoca, Romania, the son of Iosif and Etelca. He resided in Cluj Napoca before immigrating to the United States nearly a decade ago. In Cluj Napoca he was an avid soccer player and track and field athlete in his younger years. He served in the Romania military. After the Military he married Aurelia and had three beautiful children. Mr. Kovacs loved animals and nature. He loved to take his children camping, fishing and on nature walks. In his later years he enjoyed watching soccer games and relaxing moments on his porch. He was dedicated to any job or task and was an extremely hard worker. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him. Viewing and Visitation will be held on February 26, 2017 at McNutt Funeral Home from 12pm-4pm, located at 1703 Porter Rd., Conroe, Texas, 77301 One of Mr. Kovacs' last requests was to be laid to rest at home in Cluj Napoca, Romania. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Iosif Kovacs' journey back home to Romania.
