Irby Evahn Smith was born March 1, 1943 in Lakeland, Florida and passed away January 31,2013 in Montgomery, Texas at the age of 69. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents Jonas Isom and Arbutus Rosemond Trowell. He is survived by his daughters: Wendy Smith of Houston, Texas and Kimberly Purpera and husband James of Spring, Texas. His grandchildren include: Jacob Purpera, Elysia Garcia, and Kylie Ann Purpera. He leaves behind one sister: Jackie Grant and her husband Delvan of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by a loving extended family which includes: Helen Grounds, Danny Daniels and wife Susan, Jesse Daniels, Amanda Daniels, Rocky Hodgdon, Mike and Marilyn Buenrostro, David Bonds, Shelby Plumm, and numerous other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled Americans Veterans Association. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Monday February 4, 2013 from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Tuesday February 5, 2013 at 3:00pm with Pastor Reagan Jacks as officiant. Pallbearers will be: Jacob Purpera, Danny Daniels, Jesse Daniels, Mike Buenrostro, James Purpera, and Rocky Hodgdon. Burial will be in the Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 2:30pm. Visit our website at www.cashnerconroe.com
