Jack David Good 71, of Point Blank, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2013. He was born in Seymour, Missouri, on November 28, 1941 to Elmer Aaron Good and Jessie L. (Anderson) Good. Jack moved to Houston, Texas in March, 1960 and married Gracie LaRue Vassar on November 12, 1960.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Gracie LaRue Good, of Point Blank, TX; sister, Daisy Millsap and her husband Gerald of Missouri; children, Melvin David Good and his wife Kimberly of Huntsville, TX, Jimmy Dean Good of Houston, Lisa Kay Good of Waller, TX; special friend Peggy Kreger; grandchildren, Ryan David Good of Cleveland, TX, Megan Good-Crapps and her husband Stephen of South Carolina, Christian Good of South Carolina, Kelly Kay Good of New Caney, TX, and Jack Aaron Good of New Caney, TX; great-grandchildren, Abbey Good, Gracie Good, Carson Good, and Blake Good; and numerous nieces and nephews. Newest additions to his extended family are Michael and Bryan.

Jack was a long time employee as an owner and Truck Mechanic in the Ready Mix Business retiring from Hanson ready Mix in 2003. He was also a driver for Good Trucking and of Good Automotive and Heavy Truck Repair. He was employed by Street Bros. Ready Mix and his last employment was with Pan Head Soil. He was an Engineer without a degree and all who knew him agreed!

He volunteered his time and labor to Timberwood Nursing and Rehabilitation and played a large role in "The Gardens of Grace Park" at the time it was built.

Jack was a true friend to those that he be-friended. He loved his family and home.

A funeral service for Mr. Good will be held Monday, September 2, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Cemetery, Oakhurst, Texas. Mr. Good will lie in state Sunday, September 1, 2013, with family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
