Jack Torrence passed away on August 29, 2016 at the age of 80 years old. He is survived by Lorraine Torrence, his devoted and loving wife of 61 years. They were high school sweethearts meeting each other at age 15. Married few years later and have been together nearly 65 years.

Together they raised four children. Patrick James Torrence, deceased February 26, 2013; Daniel Kevin Torrence, Kathleen Rose Torrence Wright, Lynda Colleen Torrence McBride. Son-in laws, William C. Wright and Alan J. McBride;

Grandchildren: Kandace R. Cornelius, Nicole M. Brooks and Jacob D. Torrence, Christopher B. Cornelius-deceased Aug 28, 2002. Great Grandchildren; Bryce Alan Brooks, Macie Lynn Brooks-Aquirre; Brother, Kenneth R. Torrence and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Jack was born in Florida and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the Air Force at a young age and later followed in his Father's footsteps and became a Newspaper Pressman. He retired after 40 years in this line of work. He was an artist and had a true passion for drawing. He was a fantastic cartoonist, landscape and still art painter. He enjoyed making stoneware crafts and jewelry for many. He had a gift to make people laugh and feel comfortable and loved. One of his finest memories is that of being "Buckets the Clown" for the Shriner's organization. It was during this period of blessed service that Jack painted the "Wall of Clowns" in the Clown's unit room at the original Houston Arabia Shrine Temple, which was admired by all. In addition to being an active member and Past Master Mason of Willis San Jacinto Masonic Lodge #106, Jack made lifelong friends as member of the following organizations and charitable foundations:

Order of Eastern Star, Conroe Chapter #710; Arabia Shriner's; Scottish Rite; Knights Templar; York Rite; and The American Legion.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 6-8pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Funeral services commence on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 10129 FM 1097 West, Willis, Texas 77318, (936)890-0454.
