Jack Wayne Armbruster, age 81, passed away on January 13, 2017 in Montgomery, Texas after a brief illness. He was born on August 29, 1935 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston in 1953 and attended the University of Houston.

His professional career included jobs with Gulf Oil, Shell Oil and Sinclair Oil. An entrepreneur at heart, he was the owner of several businesses. He worked for 21 years as a real estate broker in Montgomery County and retired in 2012.

He was an avid sports fan with a great passion for the game of golf. He also loved to watch sports and support his favorite teams, Houston Oilers, Houston Texans and Houston Astros.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, June Armbruster of Montgomery, son; Richard Armbruster of Houston, and daughter; Lori (Julian) Moore of Sheridan, step-children; Lisa (Keith) Prejean of Bryan, Brenda (Vance) Tomey of Hondo, and David (Stacey) Dickey of Montgomery, grandchildren; Austin Moore of Sheridan, Rachael Moore, Reed Armbruster and Reagan Armbruster, all of Houston, step-grandchildren; Cole High of San Marcos, Darienne Dickey of Bryan, Allie Prejean of Bryan, Alex High of Hondo, Dawson Dickey and Dillon Dickey, both of Montgomery, sisters-in-law; Patsy Armbruster of Missouri City and Karen Nettles of Groesbeck and brother-in-law; Bobby Gene Rains of Bryan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wants to thank Texas Home Health and Heart to Heart Hospice Care for their care and service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Montgomery County Food Bank, Salvation Army or American Red Cross.

A memorial service will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
