James Gerald Thomas "Jerry" passed June 30, 2017 at St. Lukes Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas. Born in Pontiac, Michigan May 23, 1935, Jerry was raised by his grandparents and enlisted with the USAF in 1952 at the age of 17. He proudly served as Chief Gunner, Airman 2nd class during the Korean War where he received the National Defense Service Medal and was recommended for promotion to Airman 1st class. He continued his service in the Airforce Reserve until 1960. After his service, Jerry eventually settled in Texas and began a career with Sperry Univac as a computer engineer servicing large mainframe computers where he traveled extensively and loved sharing stories of his adventures. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually won over and he acquired ownership of Conroe Suzuki for several years, followed by a lengthy real estate career in Montgomery County, Texas and then concluding his work with his son-in-law for nearly 20 years at Eddings Signature Homes. We finally gave him permission to retire in 2014 at the age of 79.

His relentless work ethic was unsurpassed. He was strong, determined and an eternal optimist. When he wasn't working, he could be found repairing motorcycles, tinkering or rebuilding his cars, serving on the board in the Riverbrook POA, strategizing his fantasy football picks, smoking a mean brisket or contemplating the next convertible he was going to buy.

His friends called him "JT", some called him "Senior" but he was also a loving Dad, Pop, Grandad, Great-Grandad and Great-great grandad. He was blessed by the most recent birth of his great-grandson June 4, 2016 James Roman Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents James Hubert Thomas and Margaret Alice Louckes, his brother Delmar Benson and his devoted wife of 45 years, Carol Addington Thomas. He is survived by his children; Vicki Folster, Mike Thomas and wife Teri, Richard Thomas and wife Denise, Cindy Morisoli and husband Greg, Jackie Eddings and husband Mike, and Jim Thomas, his brother; Tommy Thomas and wife Maureen, grandchildren; Heather, Amie, Jennifer, Mike, Marisa, Paige, Abby, David, Lauren, Sara, Taylor and Carsyn, 11 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church on Monday, July 10th at 11:00am. He will be laid to eternal rest at the VA National Cemetery in Houston with military honors at 1:30pm. A gathering for family and friends will be held later that evening at 5:00pm at the family's home. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Jerry's children wish to acknowledge the many nurses, doctors, friends and family members who cared for him during the last several years. He was a proud patriot who loved his family.
