James Douglas Hatcher Jr. passed away October 19, 2014 in Humble, TX. He was born on April 22, 1936 in Rockingham, NC. James was a beloved father and pawpaw. He retired from the United States Army as Master Sargent after honorably serving for twenty years. During his enlistment he fought in the Vietnam and Korean War and boxed in the Army Olympics. James was a member of the Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed bowling and went semi-pro. James is preceded in death by his daughter, Traci Hatcher. He is survived by his daughters, Robin Hill, Mindy Granhold and Angie Hatcher, son, Chad Hatcher and wife Suzanne, sister, Mary Sue Brinker, grandchildren, JC Rooney, April Delaigle, Aaron Hill, Amber Ford, Auston Hill, Alex and Jenna Granhold, JC Rooney, Allie Mays, Riley and Jaxon Hatcher, great grandchildren, Ashton and Abigail Delaigle, Landon, Madison and Joseph Ford. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at Houston National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Solorio, Steven Bodak, Marc Luttrell, Morgan Luttrell, Ryan Evans and Larry Brandt.
