James Hubert Dorman passed away March 21, 2015. He was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 3, 1932 to Elsie Smith Dorman and John Thomas Dorman. Jim Moved with his family to Morton, Mississippi in the seventh grade. He graduated from Morton High School and after high school, he attended Hinds Jr. College in Raymond, Mississippi. His education was interrupted when his mational guard unit was activated during the Korean War where he was proud to serve as a medic. He married the love of his life, Maxine Kern, in 1951. Upon his return from the war, he attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a Degree in Geology and then attended graduate school at the University of Missouri where he received his Master's Degree in Geology.

He began his life as a geologist in 1956 with Chevron in New Orleans, Louisiana and later with Tenneco Oil Company until his retirement in 1989. After he retired he worked as a consultant for several companies. Jim and Maxine moved to April Sound in Montgomery, Tx in 1994. He was very active in the community and First United Methodist Church of Conroe where he had many friends.

Jim was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1995 and spent the rest of his time volunteering on various clinical trials for MD Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Maxine; son, James Thomas Dorman and his wife, Maria; daughter, Jayne Elizabeth DeSchutter and her husband, John; also, the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Allie Dorman and Sam DeSchutter; along with many friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 5830 Bermuda Dunes Dr. Houston, Tx 77069, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a .
