James Hubert White, 65, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the St. Luke's Community Medical Center in The Woodlands, following a five year battle of cancer.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Jeannette (Walton) White; his son, Patrick Jones and wife Pamela Jones; daughter Tammy Mittelstedt; son, Jason White and wife Morgan White; Mother, Peggy White; brother, Earl Edward White; brother in law, Rodger Walton and his wife Karen Walton; four aunts, Rita, Ruth, Marva Joyce and Clincy; eight grandchildren, Chelsie, Dalton, Emma, Savannah, Courtney, Mason, Mackenzie and Donovan; one great grandchild, Zander; and other loving family members and many friends.

Hubert was born on September 1, 1950 in Lufkin and raised in Apple Springs, the son of Burl and Peggy White.

Hubert worked for Max Heavy Haul for many years. He had a love for drag boat racing, driving his big rig, fishing, hunting, playing poker on his IPad and a genuine love for people. Hubert never met a stranger and was nicknamed "Mr. Atlas" because he could navigate you all over the country. He was a family oriented man and had the greatest love for his children and grandchildren.

If desired, the family has asked for charitable donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at www.themmrf.org or 203-229-0464 in his memory.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18th 6-8 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas. Funeral services officiated by Dr. Dale Talbert will be held on Friday, February 19th at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
