James Lewis Kent was born in Houston, Texas on April 12, 1959 to Herbert and Shirley Janosky Kent and passed away in Houston, Texas on May 30, 2017 at the age of 58. James had a passion for fishing and hunting but his life was spent being involved with his family and taking interest in his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his son, Shane Kent. James is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lauri Kent of Montgomery, Texas; son Christian Kent of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Callie Kent; sister, Karen Dinkins and brother, Doug Kent and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. Graveside service was held Friday, June 2, 2017 in the Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, Texas. Pallbearers for the service included: Christian Kent, Don Rose, Bennie Janosky, Dustin Cruz, Mike Walters and Chad Rose. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Kent and JayD Rose.

I KNEW JAMES SENCE 1999. One of my first memories is fishing for flounder off the bow of the Spirt as it was tied up at englside TX. Some of the things I know about James is he loved his boys and his wife. He was a good man and they should be proud of him.

James was such a wonderful man, father and husband. Jim and I enjoyed spending time with him. He will be greatly missed by both of us.
