James M. "(Jim)" Jongeward

James M. (Jim) Jongeward, 87, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, in Tomball, Texas. Jim was born on September 13, 1927, in Sheldon Iowa to Herman Jongeward and Alice Reaney Jongeward. He graduated from high school in Brownsville,Texas in 1945. Jim served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1955, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Jim worked for Humble Oil as a civil engineer from 1955-1970. Jim operated general contracting and engineering firms in Nacogdoches, Texas which constructed commercial buildings throughout East Texas from 1971-1987. In later years, Jim worked as consulting engineer on projects in The Woodlands, Texas.

Jim is survived by his wife and companion of 56 years, Glenda Ellinghouse Jongeward. He is also survived by his daughter, Sharon Maxwell and husband, Robert; his son, Bryan Jongeward and wife, Kerry; his grandchildren, Jessica Maxwell Bowen and husband Doug, Ben Maxwell; and his step-grandchild, John Boran, Jr.

A private memorial service will be held for the family in Tomball, Texas.
