James Minor Rumfield (February 15, 1937 - October 23, 2011) was born to Amanda and A. J. (Jack) Rumfield, Sr. of Dobbin, Texas. Preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Doris Ellon Rumfield and son, Kevin James Rumfield, his parents, and seven brothers and a sister. Survived by his son, Brandon James Rumfield and sister, Evelyn Setliff, cousin, J.M. Golding and many nieces and nephews.

James attended Conroe High School, class of 1957, where he was an outstanding football and track athlete. He retired from Montgomery County Precinct 2 in 1993.

James enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and working in his garden.

Viewing will be held at Conroe Funeral Directors in Conroe, Texas on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Willis, Texas on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Robert Buchanan officiating. He will be buried next to his wife at Farris Cemetery in Walker County.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Van Fund for people needing transportation to church in Willis, Texas.

Brandon wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Glen Berwick and Dr. Connie Hutton and staff for the outstanding care they provided James through the years.
