James Royce "JR" Wright, 88, of Conroe, Texas passed away August 20, 2014. JR is preceded in death by his parents E.C. and Pauline Wright; son: James Rodney Wright; brother: William Jack "Bo" Wright. He is survived by his loving wife Jessie Wright; daughter: Beverly Caldwell and husband Walter; sister: Geraldine Smith; nephews: Tom Whittlesey and wife Kaye, and David Whittlesey and wife Vicki, and numerous other friends from the neighborhood.

JR served his country in the United States Army during WWII from March 1943 to May of 1945. He is an avid poker player and sports fan and loved to barbeque for his friends and family. He retired from the Railroad after 40 years of service. He is a member of the Conroe Masonic Lodge # 748 and the Montgomery Chapter 228 order of The Eastern Star.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday August 22, 2014 at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Saturday at Metcalf Funeral Directors, with Gene Kendrick officiating. The interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
