James D Schwiening passed away at his home in Montgomery, Texas, on Friday, November 11, 2016, at the age of 69, after a hard fought batter with Lewy Body Dementia. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend to all. James is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Nancy Schwiening. They were married August 11, 1988 in Seguin, Texas. Theirs was a true love story. James loved deeply and anyone who was in his life was truly blessed.

James was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on June 6, 1947. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lovella Schwiening; his step mother, Evelyn Schwiening; his sister, Rita Atherton.

He leaves behind brother, Fred Schwiening, children, James Schwiening Jr., Sharon Barber, Shannon Southwell, Brooke Villanueva, Clint Barthels, Chayce Barthels, and Cayla McMahan; grandchildren, Toni Villanueva, Shannon Villanueva, Chelsi Sturrock, Summer Barber, Ashley Villanueva, Ashton Villanueva, Logan Anvrist, Devyn Anvrist, Camryn Anvrist, Gage McMahan, Kinslee McMhan; Great grandchildren, Justice Hollie and Preston Hollie. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive.

James enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan, and spent most days with his little companion Precious in his lap. James attended Tarlton State University before serving in the U.S. Navy. He then spent over 40 very dedicated years with Borden's Milk Company.
