James (Bud) Thomas, 60, or Pawpaw (as his precious grandchildren called him), joined his Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1957 in Conroe to Syble Laverne Choate and Edward Floyd (E.F.) Thomas. He became a believer in Jesus Christ at an early age and later shared much of his Biblical knowledge with family and friends. Bud married his high school sweetheart, Judi Burroughs, in August of 1975 after graduating from Conroe High School. Our family recently celebrated his 60 th birthday and their 42nd wedding anniversary. Bud and Judi have 4 children and 8 grandchildren all living within a 12 mile radius of the family home place in Cut and Shoot, TX. Bud was a master carpenter for over 40 years; creating countless millwork projects, custom cabinetry, stairways, mantels and much more. His leisure and work activities gave him the opportunity to develop many lasting friendships. Some of his favorite activities included bowling, playing the guitar, family game nights, tossing corn bags, hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons and "therapy time" on his BadBoy lawn mower with his furry companion, Tinkerbell.

Bud was reunited in Heaven with his parents, grandparents, mother and father-in-law, aunts and uncles, brother-in law, John Peterson, special cousins, David and Karen Agnew of Troup, TX and many other friends and relatives. Left to carry on his legacy are: his wife of 42 years, Judi Thomas, daughters - Jaycie Feller and Jamie Foster, sons and daughter-in-laws - Jason Thomas (Bonnie) and Jacob Thomas (Jennifer); Grandchildren - Jordan, Alexis, Gage, Jesse, Jalynn, Alyssa, Jrake and Harper; Three sisters, Patricia Tutt (Raymond), Sandra Peterson and Twyla Gaskin (Charles) and host of nieces and nephews, friends from high school, and co-workers also survive.

A Celebration of Life has been planned for Saturday, January 6 th at West Conroe Baptist Church on Longmire Road. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.
