Graveside Services for lifetime resident of Montgomery, Texas, James Walter Johnson will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Copeland Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Cowart officiating. The family will receive friends in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Johnson was born on May 2, 1937 in Montgomery, Texas to E.N. and Anna (McGee) Johnson. He passed away on December 29, 2016 at the age of 79.

Dear to Mr. Johnson's heart was being a lifelong member of Honea Baptist Church and being a Texas Cattleman. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend who was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by many. James was preceded in death by his parents, E.N. and Anna Johnson; sisters, Juanelle Kelley and Joyce Michael Kelley; and brother, Paul "Buggs" Johnson.

James is survived by his loving family: Beloved wife of 51 years, Nita Johnson; son, Waylon Johnson; grandchildren, Jared Johnson, Maddyn Harris-Johnson, Jeannie Johnson and Holly Johnson; brother, John Edward Johnson and wife, Edith; sister, Joanna Castleberry and husband, Don; his best friends, Lonnie Myers, Ivan Madeley and William Cocke; numerous nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends also survive. Honorary Pallbearers will include Lonnie Myers, Ivan Madeley, Gilbert Castleberry, Hulon Madeley, Greg Thornton, Monte Cole and Barry Castleberry.
