Janice Elnora Maddox Suggs, age 92 of Spring, TX, went home to be with her Savior on December 17, 2013. Born January 5, 1921 in Ada, OK, she was a registered nurse and homemaker. During the time of WW2, she also worked for Douglas Aircraft; a company building C-47s to support the war effort.

A founding member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Spring, TX, she was the church's librarian for 19 years, an elementary Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years, sang alto in the church choir since it's inception in 1967 and, in her later years, enjoyed singing with the Silver Belles, a senior adult ladies ensemble. Janice was an avid gardener and also enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking and researching genealogy.

She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law Stan & Linda Suggs of Carmine, TX and Joe & Jackie Suggs of Spring, TX, granddaughters Stacie Engeling of Austin, TX and Leslie Suggs of Houston, TX, granddaughter & grandson-in-law Kelly & Sam Moore of Spring, TX, great-granddaughter Ellie Moore of Spring, TX, sisters Ophelia Terry of Choctaw, OK, and Nadine Ross of Oklahoma City, OK, cousins, nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Harley E. Suggs, her son, Roger Mark Suggs, and five of her siblings.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX 77304. A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2013 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 500 E Oak Hill Dr, Spring TX 77386. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338.

Janice fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Well done, good and faithful servant.
