JB Miller, 95, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away May 20, 2017.

He was born in Holiday, Texas on June 6, 1921.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy In March 1942. He served in both World War II and Korea. He continued his military service in the Naval Reserves as a Seabee and retired in May 1977 after almost 29 years of service.

He was married to Shirlyn West on January 1, 1947. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past January.

He was a member of The American Legion, The Fleet Reserve, and served as a Regional Commissioner in The Boy Scouts of America, Rio Grand Valley.

Until his health waned, he enjoyed dominos, square dancing, and his never ending yard work.

JB was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and dearly loved the choir. He participated as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirlyn; two sons, John and James; five grandchildren, Noah, Jordan, Erin, Geoffrey, and Jaclyn and three great-grandchildren, Lilah, Anastasia, and Isaac.

JB will be laid to rest on June 1, 2017 at the Houston National Cemetery.
