JD SMITH, age 74, a resident of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017. JD was the first Fire Chief in the New Caney Fire Department. He owned and operated American Engraving Graphics Corporation until 1993 at which time he sold the business and went into retirement. JD loved to fish, hunt and watch FOX news.

JD is survived by his wife, Evelyn Smith; his children, Greg Smith and wife, Joy of Kingwood, Texas, Riley Smith and wife, Rebecca of DeQuincy, Louisiana, John Leong of Montgomery, Texas, Timmy Leong of Montgomery, Texas, Annette McWhorter and husband, David of Cypress, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Smith and wife, Sarah, Lachrista Mosier and husband, Wil, Melissa Gill, Tammy Holmes and husband, Billy, Jessica Leong, Roger "Bubba" Mathis, Christina "Nina" Leong, Creston Leong, Evelyn "Ebby" Leong, Cameron Smith, Landon Smith, Hannah Minchew and Kimberly McWhorter. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Brandon, Casey, Blake, Braden, Taylee, Jonathan, Jaxon, Atticus and Dustin; along with one sister, Linda Freeman and husband, Dave of Conroe, Texas, his cousin and best friend, Mike Chadwick and wife, Ginger of Conroe, Texas, a special nephew, Shannon Smith and daughter-in-law, Rosemary Deleon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. L. Smith and Mary Foxworth and one son, Jimmy Leong.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5 - 7:00 P.M. with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. The visitation and funeral will be held at Abundant Life Church, 200 Mink Street, Willis, Texas with Rev. Dave Stovall and Rev. Russell Hayes officiating.

There will also be a visitation on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana with a graveside service to follow at DeQuincy Memorial Park, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Rev. Dave Stovall and Rev. Carlie Jackson will be officiating.
