Jennie Vee Brumley Norton, 86, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2012, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born on June 2, 1926, in Cameron, Texas, to Thomas Kennedy and Ora (Wooley) Kennedy.

She retired from Temple Oaks Baptist Church School as secretary in the 1970s. She was an active member of University Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas, since 1978. Jennie had a passion to help others. She enjoyed entertaining and playing cards with friends and family. Jennie treasured most of all her family and the time spent with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her are her daughters, Robin and Lynn Fowler of Rockwall, Texas and Pam and Harold Wayne "Turk" Eppes of Magnolia, Texas; grandsons, David Hayden and wife Ashley, Ryan Rafferty, Cory Fowler, Ty Rowden and Jake Eppes and wife Nicole; granddaughters, Rachelle Hupp and husband Rusty, RaCayle Eppes and Caitlyn Eppes; two great-grandsons, Bryce Hayden and Tripp Hupp; two great-granddaughters, Brynley Hayden and Brooke Hayden; sisters, Leola Rushing and Becky Baker; other family members, Bobby and Sarah Brumley, Martha Ann and Glen Legg and Pauline Brumley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers are David Hayden, Ryan Rafferty, Cory Fowler, Ty Rowden, Jake Eppes, Bryce Hayden and Rusty Hupp.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norton will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at University Heights Baptist Church, Huntsville, with Dr. Richard Rogers officiating. Interment will follow service at 3:30 p.m., at Brookside Cemetery, Houston, Texas. Mrs. Norton will lie in state Friday, December 14, 2012, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas, with family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
