Jim Isaacks, age 86, passed away March 4, 2013. He is survived by his son, Ron Isaacks and wife Bonnie; daughter, Jeanette Waldrop; sister, Darlene Mosley; grandchildren, Cody and Cassidy Isaacks; Corey and Casey Waldrop; Kenneth, Mike and Charlie Reilly; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a WWII Navy Veteran and served aboard an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific. After his service, he worked for AT&T (Southwestern Bell Telephone) for 32 years then spent many years in law enforcement and was appointed the first Police Chief of Magnolia, Texas, where he served until 1983. He then served with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department until 1993, when he retired to Bastrop where he raised cattle.

Jim was a member of the McDade Baptist Church, VFW and was Master Mason at the Adam Royder Masonic Lodge, No. 778. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Visitation is Friday, March 8, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the funeral service will be Saturday, March 9 at 1 pm at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home 505 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop, TX 78602. 512.321.2576.
