Memorial services to celebrate the life of Jimmie Hugh Walker will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery. The family will host a memorial visitation and reception on Monday, August 19, 2013from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Jimmie was born September 26, 1939 in Oxford, Mississippi to Joseph and Lillie Walker and retired his life on Earth to spend Eternity in Heaven with his Lord and Savior on August 6, 2013. Until the decline in his health, Jimmie loved golfing, playing bridge and travelling. He was an avid reader of hardback books. After Jimmie would read the books; he would share his joy of reading by donating them to nursing homes. Jimmie was also a 52nd degree Mason at his home lodge in Minnesota. Jimmie will be missed tremendously by his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda Walker; son, Joseph Scott Walker; sister, Genendelle Walker-Parker and by his brother, Kenneth Dewitt Walker and wife Anita Swims-Walker; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.
