Joel Oscar Flores, 69, of Mansfield, Texas passed away Wednesday at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born in Paris, France son of Oscar Flores and Ilka Vuano.

He grew up in San Antonio, TX before serving his country in the US Navy including service in Vietnam. He spent the majority of his professional career with GE Power Generation Services retiring in 2014 after 32 years of service.

Over the years, Joel served his community in a number of different capacities. He was a proud member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Sons of the Republic of Texas.

Joel had a passion for physical fitness; particularly his love of racquetball and skiing. He was an avid Texas Longhorn fan never missing a home game prior to his illness.

Joel leaves his wife of 47 years, Charlotte McClendon Flores.

Visitation will be held Friday 5:00 - 7:00pm with a rosary following at 7:00PM - Moore Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, TX. Rite of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00AM at St. Jude Catholic Church Chapel - 500 E. Dallas, Mansfield, TX with Rev. George Foley presiding.
