It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John A. Martin to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

John was happily married to Barbara for 37 glorious years and lived in Willis near Lake Conroe. John had a successful career in civil construction. He was a greeter at the Ark Church in Conroe, Texas, was blessed with many cherished friendships and loved by all who met him. He was a dedicated family man, and respected by many.

John LIVED for Harley motorcycles. He had an infectious passion for riding and the thrill of the open road.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter Leontine Gooley; son-in-law, Ken Gooley; granddaughters Kennedy and Jade Gooley; and close nephew C.W. Peacock and his wife Christy. Preceded in death by granddaughter Kaylee Gooley and nephew Ray Kasserman.

Memorial will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, at http://fundraising.stjude.org/goto/johnmartin.
