John B. King, 74, of Montgomery, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Friday, June 24, 2016, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Saturday, June 25, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11323 County Road 304 in Stoneham, with Rev. Edward C. Kucera, Jr. as the celebrant. The rite of committal will follow in the church cemetery.

John was born September 20, 1941 in El Campo to John Bowers and Mildred Inez Nelson Frayard. His mother later remarried and John was adapted by Joe King, Sr. John retired from Continental Airlines in Houston. It was on June 17, 1995 that he married Frances Imhoff Langley and John moved to Montgomery.

John enjoyed traveling, playing the slot machines and looked forward to his weekly poker night with his buddies. But the one true love of his life was his wife of 21 years, Frances.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe King, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Frances King of Montgomery; his children, Kim Kinnear and husband David of Edmond, OK, Kevin King of Plano, Kerry King and wife Emily, U.S. Navy, and Jennifer King Davis of Midland.; Frances's children, James Langley and wife Carol of Montgomer, Joette Jochen and husband Harlan, Jacade Isbell and husband Ricky, all of Navasota and Jennifer Dodson of Montgomery; grandchildren, Hunter and Colby Pierce, Garrett Kinnear, Conner, Reece and Taylor King, Landyn Davis, Justin and Jace Langley, Taloyre Keller and husband Darin, Reece Pistler and wife Jamie, Stacey Male and husband Wes, Abbi Slaton and husband Michael, Bryan Dodson and Elle Rocha-Rios and husband Chico; 11 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a great number of friends.
