John D. Hallaron died September 22, 2011 after a ten year struggle with Alzheimer's. Jack was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 23, 1929 to Ferrick J. and Mae Dominica Fallo Hallaron. He graduated from Tulane University, New Orleans in 1952 with a degree in Business Administration. While attending Tulane, he was Drum Major for the Tulane Green Wave Marching Band for four years. After graduation he then served in the U.S. Navy for 26 1/2 years. He was assigned to three Naval Ships and two Admiral Staffs. After nine years of Active Duty, he continued to serve in the Naval Reserve. He retired in 1989 with permanent rank of Commander, USNR.

In 1962, he was Area Sales Representative for Glazer Steel Corporation, New Orleans, LA. In 1968 he moved to Houston, Texas and sold Bank Equipment. He was founder and C.E.O. of Southwest Safe Corporation, Houston, Texas. In 1972, he became Sales Engineer for LeFebure Corporation, Houston, Texas and retired March 26, 1990. In 1972, his family moved to Conroe, Texas. Here he was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served on many school activity boards, church parent clubs, Birthright and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He was State Pro. Life Chairman sponsored by the Conroe Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He was also Vice President of the River Plantation Civic Association for five years.

He was pre-deceased by his parents; brother, Ferrick J. Hallaron, Jr.; three sisters, Patricia Ducote, Colleen Logreco and Sister Jane Moira Hallaron, RSM. He is survived by two sisters, Marie Louise Horil and Margaret (Molly) Keenan and brother, Lawrence Hallaron, II.

He is also survived by his wife, Helen of 55 years; four children, son, John Dennis Hallaron, Jr. and wife Nancy; son F. J. (Teddy) Hallaron, II, and wife Brenda; daughter, Janet Hallaron Schmerber and husband Steve; son, Michael Sean Hallaron and wife, Melissa. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Christopher Hallaron and wife Tiffany; Lauren DeSutter and husband Brian; Timothy Hallaron and wife Erica; Ferrick J. Hallaron, IV; Katherine Schmitt and husband Tristan; Amy Hallaron; Stephanie Neunuebel and husband Ryan; S. Michael Schmerber, Jr., Jennifer Schmerber, Matthew Schmerber, David Schmerber and Alex Schmerber; Sarah Jane Hallaron and Sean Patrick Hallaron. Also survived by eight Great Grandchildren; Emily, Hunter, Hailey, Bethany, Luke, Ryan, Jack and Jude.

Visitation will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe beginning at 6-8 pm Sunday, September 25, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Monday, September 26, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, Texas. Interment will follow Funeral Mass at Forest Park Cemetery, The Woodlands.

The family wants to especially thank Yvonne, Joe and Andrew Champion who took such wonderful care of him.
