John Daniel Shepherd of Montgomery, TX was born on August 19, 1977, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 22, 2013. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents James A. Belvin, Sr. and wife Dorothy C. Belvin, and John H. Shepherd, Jr. and wife Cornelia S. Shepherd, all of Durham, NC.

All who knew Dan know that his children were his life. Dan is survived by his two children, Garrett Thomas Shepherd and Brooke Rylee Shepherd of Montgomery, TX; his mother Valerie Shepherd of Spring, TX; his father John Shepherd and wife Glenda of Willis, TX; his sister Lauren Muskiet and husband Blake and their two children Ethan and Parker of Spring, TX; his brother Matthew Shepherd and wife Emily of Denver, CO; his step-sisters Audrey Meyer of Tomball, TX and Ashley Meyer Tornberg of Magnolia, TX; and many other family members in North Carolina and Massachusetts, as well as many good friends. Dan was a very kind-hearted person, and he was a wonderful, loving father, son, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who were a part of his life.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28th, from 6pm-8pm at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home located at 10129 FM 1097 W., Willis, TX, 77318. The funeral will be held Thursday, August 29th, at 11am at St. Timothy's Anglican Church located at 6819 Louetta Rd, Spring, TX, 77379, with burial following the service at Smith Memorial Park Cemetery in Willis, TX. The pallbearers during the service will be Matthew Shepherd, Blake Muskiet, Jason Baber, Jason Calhoun, Jeff Dover, and Brian Tyszka. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Garrett and Brooke Shepherd Benefit Fund. Please contact any Amegy Bank branch to make a contribution.
