Dr. John G Newkirk 72, The Woodlands, Texas returned to our Heavenly Father on March 23, 2014.

He was born in Fort Worth, Texas February 4, 1942. He graduated from Lake Charles High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1960. John graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1964. He entered Loyola University School of Dentistry where he was a member of Zi Psi Phi dental fraternity and C. Victor Vignes Odontological Society. He graduated in 1968. John entered the United States Army where he served as a Dentist. Dr. Newkirk practiced Dentistry for 46 years. John married Janet McNee of Waco, Texas in December, 1965. They met while both attended Baylor University. They were married for 43 years. After the United States Army he established a Dental Office in Houston, Texas from 1971 to 2005. A change of location was made to The Woodlands from 2005 to 2014. His wife Janet passed away in 2009. In 2010, he married Theresa Terracino. He is survived by his wife Terry, two daughters Julie Annette Rusk and Judith Suzanne Mateer. He has three grandchildren McKayla Mateer, John Mateer and Breeana Kendall Rusk. He is a member of The Woodlands First Baptist Church.

The family coordially invites you to visitation at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Refreshments will be offered from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at The Woodlands First Baptist Church- 11801 Grogans Mill Rd., The Woodlands, Texas. The burial will occur at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Services.
