John Wicker fell peacefully asleep in death May 2, 2013 on what would have been his 60 year wedding anniversary to the love of his life, who preceded him in death. He was born on September 9, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is survived by his three children, Karyn Lynn Brannan, Rachel Lee Wells, and Clay Matthew Wicker and wife Tina Marie Wicker. He was the grandfather to Andrea Lynn Mosher and husband Dana Mosher, Michael Leigh Willet and wife Leslie Willet, Christopher John Wells, Austin Richard Morales, Dustin Matthew Wicker and wife Dilenia Wicker, Christen Wences and husband Abimael Wences. In addition he had 6 great grandchildren: Madelyn Alexa Willet, Lauren Elizabeth Willett, Alyssa Mackenzie Willet, Hannah Elizabeth Wells, Ronin Michael Morales and Trey Barret Entralgo. They are joined by his surviving brother Michael Wicker of Minnesota. John was a spiritual man who liked to help teach the bible to others. He used every opportunity he could to tell others of the Bible's hope for the future and God's purposes for mankind. John was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors. He set a great example for his family by showing how hard work and living a simple life was a respected accomplishment. He loved his family and his trusted canine companion, Yak. Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 100 Rankin Rd. in Montgomery, TX on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a worldwide bible education work at: Watchtower, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.
