Johnnie Mae Morrow, a long time resident of Montgomery County, succumbed to complications of pneumonia on February 22, 2014, surrounded by her loving children. She was 92 years old.

The second child of John Looney Goines and Mary Lou Rushing, Johnnie Mae was born September 1, 1921, in Groveton, Texas. She and her siblings were reared in a Christian home with few material comforts but an abundance of love. Her close knit family shared a faith that abided throughout her life.

Johnnie Mae was smart, funny, kind, creative, loving and generous to a fault. Although her formal education ended with marriage at the age of fifteen, her curiosity about everything that caught her eye or attention never ceased. She loved to learn and she loved books and music, flowers, ruffles and lace, things that sparkled, sunshine and stars, and small animals and babies.

Most of all, Johnnie Mae loved her family. The loss of her first child left a shadow on the rest of her life, but she took great pride in the accomplishments of each child who came after. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a never ending source of joy and delight for Johnnie Mae, and she was a favorite aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Morrow was predeceased by her beloved parents and infant son, Thomas Lawrence Morrow; her youngest son, Gary Dennis Morrow; grandson, Eric Trenton Ervin; great grandson Keith Logan Ervin and four of her five siblings.

Left to mourn are Ms. Morrow's daughters Martha Tullos and Linda Christofilis of Austin, TX and Jenny Ward (Billy) of Union, MS, with whom Ms. Morrow most recently resided; sons Ronald B. Morrow (Verna) of Cleveland, TX, and Larry Morrow (Suzanne) of Dubai, UAE and Naples, FL; and her brother John Richard Goines (Judy) of Conroe, TX. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends will share remembrances of Ms. Morrow at a visitation on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the McNutt Funeral Home, 1600 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas 77301, from 10:00-11:00am. A graveside service and burial will follow at Conroe Memorial Park, 1609 Porter Road, Conroe, Tx.
