Jole Piccoli Eaker, 91, of Willis, TX, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.

She is survived by daughter Maria Eaker Moreland and husband the Honorable Charles T. Moreland; grandson Joseph L. Mangiameli, Jr. and wife Jennifer Knighton; grandson John E. Mangiameli and wife Deanna Mangiameli; great-grandchildren Dejanara, John Matthew, and Dejohna Mangiameli; daughter Clotilde Eaker; granddaughter Monica McKelvy; grandson Mark McKelvy; great-granddaughter Madison McKelvy; step-daughters Diana Eaker and Sandy Eaker; and sister Rosana Piccoli of Rome, Italy, along with innumerable friends throughout the U.S. and abroad.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Wallis Eaker (d. August 30, 1980).

Jole was born in Recoaro Terme, Vicenza, Italy, December 28, 1923, to Atillo Piccoli and Clotilde Poleto, who were members of the Italian resistance.

During World War II, Jole met her husband who served in the United States Armed Forces in Italy while she protected soldiers from Nazi sympathizers. After the war, she immigrated with her husband to America, where they raised a family and ran a successful real-estate business in Houston, before retiring to Willis, TX.

She was a delight to all who knew and loved her and will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, TX, on Saturday, January 17 at 4:00 p.m., with visitation on Friday, January 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Condolences may be left at .
