Joseph T. Joiner, age 81, passed away August 25, 2014 in Conroe, Texas. He was born November 6, 1932 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Ira and Nellie Joiner. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, he was an avid sports enthusiast. He played varsity basketball, baseball and tennis. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He also excelled in racquetball. In his later years he pursued golf with a passion. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Conroe. He was controller for Johnson and Johnson and then entered banking in the Houston area for over 25 years. He retired from Global Services as CFO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Nellie Joiner; brother, Louis Joiner; sons, Steve and Tim Joiner; daughter, Linda Halliburton; and grandson, Jared Joiner. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Bettye; daughter, Vicki and husband Scott Bentley; and stepson, Rick Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Amy Dawn and husband Van Gentry, Clint and Rebecca Halliburton, Master Sergeant Cole and Brooke Halliburton, Wesley Halliburton, Brendon and Jamie Joiner; Great-grandchildren, Aubree and Rowan Halliburton, Lane and Austin Halliburton, along with numerous other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. James The Apostle Episcopal Church, 1803 Highland Hollow Dr. just off 105 in Conroe.
