"Dodie" Josephine Byington, was called to Heaven by our Lord & Saviour on July 31, 2017. She was born on the 4th of July in 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Dodie was taught the tenets of honesty and hard work and practiced that her whole life. She was married to Dick her beloved husband for 60 years before his passing in 2016. They lived in Flordia until their move to Conroe, Texas in 1977. Dodie is survived and will be missed very much by her brothers, Bob and Fred McFadden, her son, Richard and his wife Ninfa, their children Sophia and Natalie, her son Kenneth, her son Stephen and his wife Sherry and their son Bradley, niece Caryn and the many friends that we also a big part of her life. Dodie was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother and an awesome grandmother to say the least. She was always there for her family and friends. Dodie was a straight shooter that cared for those around her and was a true friend to all she met. She enjoyed life and all it had to offer. She was an avid golfer, tennis, and bridge player. She enjoyed playing with her friends for decades at River Plantation Country Club, of which she served as the first female club president. She loved cooking up delicious meals. A woman full of love, nothing made her happier than being with her family and friends celebrating special occasion. A celebration of life will be held at River Plantation Country Club, Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 2:30-4:30. In lieu of flowers, support a charity or assit someone in need.
