Josephine (Jo) Cangelosi Ivie Bode passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of October 8, 2014. She was born June 23, 1923 in Caldwell, Texas to Andrew and Lena Cangelosi of Sicily. Her family moved to Houston in 1934 so that their children could get a complete education. Jo helped her father run their family's store during World War II. She worked over 50 years as a bookkeeper.

Jo married Clifford John Ivie on January 31, 1958. Her daughter, Jo Ann, was born the following year. Jo married Elmer Roy Bode September 20, 2002. Jo was a founding member of both the Conroe and The Woodlands Quilt Guilds, once winning Blue Ribbon at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for her Baltimore Bouquet quilt. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Spring, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a generous and kind heart.

She is survived by her daughter Jo Ann Childers and fiancé Bob Mann, stepdaughters Patricia Gettman and Lori Candee, grandchildren Lindsay Kirkpatrick and husband Kenton, Andrea Wursche and husband RJ, and Matthew Childers, and great-grandchildren Braden Kirkpatrick and Leira Wursche, as well as her sister Betty Kaffenberger. She is predeceased by her husband, Cliff, and her second husband, Roy, her brother Sam Cangelosi, and her sister Bess Daglio. The family is grateful to Atria Assisted Living and Grace Hospice for their outstanding care over the last two years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303, at 12:30pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Visitation will be held the hour preceding the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Matthew Childers, Kenton Kirkpatrick, RJ Wursche, Bob Mann, Andrea Wursche, Lisa Cano, and honorary pallbearers John Tautenhahn and Bobby Lemm. Memorials can be made to the Wayne Kaffenberger Endowed Scholarship Fund c/o University of St. Thomas, 3800 Montrose, Houston, Texas 77006.
