Judith Ann Troiano, 76, passed peacefully from this life on Friday evening, January 27, 2012, in The Woodlands, Texas. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Judy attended South High School before studying Humanities at Youngstown College. She met Richard Troiano, the love of her life, as a junior in high school. They were married in 1954, eventually having five children. Together, Rich and Judy founded Hearth Hill Kennels in Canfield, Ohio, and for 15 years they raised championship quality Great Danes and Mastiffs. The family relocated to Houston in 1980 where Judy's passion for interior design and decorating flourished. She was hired by Lord and Taylor's Galleria store to manage its Home Fashions department. In 1981, Judy opened her own store, Home Sweet Home Etc, in the Galleria. Since then, more than 30 years in all, Rich and Judy have run Home Sweet Home Etc, providing Houston with a store unlike all others. Judy understood trends in products, color, and style. She was a master buyer who matched merchandise perfectly with the needs of her customers. Judy is survived by her husband, Richard, in Conroe, Texas; son Michael, of Houston; son Richard, of Canfield, Ohio; son Jeff, of San Francisco, California; and daughter Marianne, of Conroe. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa. Judy loved and appreciated flowers. She requested that her flowers be donated after the services to local care facilities for others to enjoy.
