A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Julian "J.L." Kotlarich, 81, of Willis, Texas will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Family Assembly of God located at 7402 Stewart Road, Galveston, Texas 77551. Associate Pastor Ernesto Gomez and J.L.'s son-in-law, Blaine Winderl will officiate the service. The Air Force will perform military honors.

J.L. was born December 5, 1934 in Galveston, Texas and moved to his Heavenly Mansion on July 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter M. Kotlarich and Julia Lassen Kotlarich, 3 brothers and 6 sisters. He is survived by his children: Cynthia Wheat (Charlie) of Conroe, Debra Winderl (Blaine) of Killeen, Paul Kotlarich (Melessa) of Beaumont and John Kotlarich (Rosa) of Grand Prairie; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his sister Florence Crews of Folkston, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.

J.L. was a longtime resident of Galveston. He served his country in the United States Air Force where he was a hydraulic repairman and a hydraulic tester. He worked at Falstaff Brewery until the Galveston brewery closed. He also worked on the Galveston Ferry and for the Galveston County Navigation District as a bridge operator on the Pelican Island Bridge until he retired in 2001. He was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Galveston. He was also a lifetime member of The Sons of Herman Galveston Lodge.

Upon retiring J.L. relocated to Willis, Texas to be near his family. He was a longtime member of New Birth Assembly of God in Huntsville, Texas where his dear friends Rich and Marcella Trotter served as Pastors.
