Juliene Benefield Gary was born in Cotton Valley, Louisiana on March 2, 1934 and departed this life for her heavenly home on September 3, 2017 at the age of 83. She married B.J. Gary on June 30, 1953 and resided in Sweeny, Texas before moving to Conroe in 2015. She was a graduate of Sweeny High School and recently attended her 65 th high school reunion. Juliene worked for over 20 years as administrative secretary at Sweeny Community Hospital and 10 years as financial secretary at First Baptist Church in Old Ocean, where she was an active member. She was a devoted Christian, loving wife and mother and she shared her gift of hospitality with all her knew her. She was a current member of West Conroe Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.O. Benefield and Mildred Jenkins, her husband, B.J. Gary, her sister, Jean Creech and two brothers Dwaymond and Jack Benefield. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Leigh Ann Lintelman and husband Paul of Conroe, Texas, sons Jim Gary and wife Dong Mei of Shanghai, China and Richard Gary and wife Tammy of Portage, Indiana; grandchildren: Michael Lintelman and Jessica Dawson, Amanda and Andrew Stephens, and Devon Gary; great-grandchildren: Courtney Leigh Stephens, Mace Von Lintelman and Evan Dale Stephens; sisters-in-law Estella Benefield of San Juan Capistrano, California, Nancy Benefield of Alvin, Texas, and Helen Morrison of Stratford, Oklahoma; as well as nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Funeral service will be in the Metcalf Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 7 th at 2 pm with Bro. Alan Gentiles of West Conroe Baptist Church ministering. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at a later date in Sweeny Cemetery.
