Katherine Elizabeth Diehl, of Dobbin, died Friday afternoon, July 10, 2015, at Tomball Regional Hospital.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 8227 County Road 205 at FM 1773 in Plantersville with a parish rosary to begin at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The rite of committal will follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery.

Katherine was born December 3, 1930 in Dobbin, Texas to Egnatz and Catherine Doshire Schmidt. She grew up in Dobbin and after she married Robert Diehl, they moved to Houston where she worked for Houston ISD. At her retirement she was the cafeteria manager at Hamilton Elementary School in the Heights. Katherine loved studying her family genealogy, reading, knitting and quilting. Having never met a stranger, she loved to socialize.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and an infant son, Ivan Gay Diehl.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Diehl of Dobbing; sons, Timothy Way Diehl and wife Marie of Cypress, Manfred Diehl of Dobbin, Miles Ray Diehl and wife Candace of Jacksonville, FL, Sherwin Jay Diehl and wife Norma of Houston and Brian Lay Dielh and wife Cherrie of Spring; daughters, Roberta Kay Johnson and husband David of Decker Prairie, Bridget Fay Huston and husband John of Dobbin and Teresa May Hall of Montgomery; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren along with numerous other relatives and friends.
