Kenneth Earl Pace of Conroe, Texas went to be with his Lord on October 1, 2017. He was at home surrounded by his family on this day and was holding the hand of his loving wife Virginia (Sue) when he passed. A memorial service for Kenneth, officiated by Rev Russell Hayes will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Groceville, 19256 FM 1484, Conroe, Texas 77303.

Ken was one of 4 children born to Earl Edward and Pearl Alpha Nordean Pace on February 16, 1938 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He and his family soon moved to Oklahoma and then later to Texas where he graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1956. On a summer break from Texas Tech University In 1957 he was working in Odessa, Texas and met his wife Virginia (Sue) Smith and they were married on June 1, 1958 in Odessa, Texas. Together they had three children. They enjoyed traveling together as well as spending time with family and friends. Kenneth lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being around people. He had many hobbies during his lifetime like building things, golf, bowling, fishing, hunting, collecting baseball hats, making fish bait and playing scratch offs. All of them included his family and friends. Kenneth started off his professional career as a lineman for Southwestern Bell in 1958 but quickly moved up the ranks in the years to follow. He made their Achievers Clubs many years and Presidents club several times during his career. He retired from AT&T in 1983 and went on to do consultant work for a few years and then got into construction with his son which had always been one of his favorite hobbies. When his wife Virginia was transferred by VOA to Victoria, Texas they moved and he also went to work for VOA. They both retired from VOA in Conroe, Texas in 2004. At that time, they moved to Lake Murvaul where they built their dream home and spent many happy days fishing off the bulk head in the back yard. In 2010 they moved back to Conroe so they could be close to family. Kenneth's mission statement remained constant thru out his life but did get shorter and more to the point as the years passed by. His last revision made in June 2017 was only 5 sentences and was "Live an honest life. Never cheat, lie or steal. Love ALL people. Have true compassion for all. Take care of my family. Ken Pace; The day he passed he asked for a copy of it to be taped to the wall in front of him so he could see it. He truly lived by his mission statement and always took care of his family. Kenneth was a loving husband and father and he will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mrs. Virginia (Sue) Pace, his daughter Kenya Pace both of Conroe, TX, his daughter Linda Belk of Willis TX, his son Kenneth (Corkey) Pace and his wife Laura of Maddisonville, TX, his grandchildren Jason Dietz and his wife Renee, Cody Pace-Martin, Joshua and Niki Belk, Mathew Whatley, Stacey & Anthony Garcia, Amy Wilganowski and Christina Jeffcoat. He also leaves behind nephews Charles Pruitt and his wife Dee Williams, Terry Williams, David Williams and Darrell Williams. Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother Pearl Alpha Nordean Pace and father Earl Edward Pace, brother, John (Jay) Pace, Sisters Edwina Pace Pruett and Barbra Jo Pace Williams.
