Lee Ann Palmer, 74, of Montgomery, TX, died Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was born to the late Lee and Carmein Palmer on August 4, 1939, in Madisonville, Texas. Lee Ann graduated from Normangee High School in 1957 and received a BA in English and a Masters in Library Science from Sam Houston State University. Lee Ann taught English at Normangee High School until 1985 at which time she became the Head Librarian at Genoa Elementary School in Pasadena where she worked until her retirement. In 1994, she chose to live her retirement years on Lake Conroe in Montgomery. Being a teacher was a role that Lee Ann embraced wholeheartedly and because of that demanded the best out of her students. Post retirement she spent many hours tutoring children as part of the Channel 8 Student Program.

She is survived by 2 sons, Scott Palmer of Crowley, LA and Todd Palmer who currently resides in Brussels, Belgium. Lee Ann is also survived by a sister, Judy Robert; a nephew Jeff Robert; daughter-in-law, Tina Palmer and granddaughter, Kayla Palmer all of whom reside in Montgomery; and a niece, Wendy Anderson of Chapel Hill, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to MD Anderson Hospital or the Montgomery County Public Library. A memorial service will be held at the Montgomery United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
