Lee E. Walding, 90, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2014 with his family by his side. Lee was born to Roy and Falma Walding on January 31, 1924 in Conroe, Texas. Lee was raised in the country and developed a love for hunting and cattle. He served in the Navy for three years during World War II then started a 40 year career in the oil industry. During this time he also raised cattle and maintained his acreage in Montgomery, Texas. After retiring, Lee worked at Lake Conroe Park for years. This brought him great joy and allowed him to mentor young teens, including his grandson, Gregory. Lee was active in Southside Baptist Church and in later years, First Baptist Church of Conroe. Lee is survived by his daughter and son in law, Pam and Mike Hardy of Magnolia, TX, son and daughter in law, Ray and Lisa Walding of Conroe, TX, granddaughter and spouse Kelly and Ryan Urban of Pittsburgh, PA, grandson and fiancé Clinton Walding and Melanie Schwebke of Boston, MA, grandson Gregory Rice of Austin, TX and great grandson, Sawyer Joseph Shaban of Katy, TX. A private family memorial will be held at Lake Conroe Park at a later date.
