In Loving Memory of Lee Roy Byrd, 62, of New Caney, Texas who went to Heaven on August 22, 2013 surrounded by his family at Odyssey House in Conroe, Texas. Lee was the beloved son of James Ambers Byrd and Velma Lucille Byrd and mother-in-law, Judy White. He was a wonderful husband to Kathy Byrd for almost 40 years. Lee was an exceptional father to Christopher Lee Byrd of New Caney, TX, Brandi and Kenneth Durham of Conroe, TX and Amanda and Russell Wolf of Spring, TX. He was a loving "Papaw" to Charles Robert King III, Brianna Musachia, Zanndra Musachia, Blaze Wolf, Jamie Durham, Jessica Durham, Clarissa Durham and Jacob Durham and a great grandfather to Ariel, Sylus and Paittyn Heffernan. He is leaving behind numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of caring friends.

Lee proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years during the Vietnam era and will receive military honors for his service to our country. He and his wife, Kathy owned Lighthouse Remodeling which they ran together for over 35 years. Lee was a Christian man and loved God and his country. He helped everyone he knew and never turned his back on a friend. Lee loved his family with all of his heart and they were the most important part of his life. His family cherished him and he will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Velma Byrd, mother-in-law, Judy White and several brothers and sisters.

A Viewing will be held in remembrance of Lee at Conroe Funeral Directors on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. He will be honored with a Military Funeral Service on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas at 12:30 P.M. Lee will be forever loved, never forgotten and truly missed by his family and all that knew him.
