Leonard E. Birdsong of Montgomery, TX, died of natural causes on December 23, 2012. A devoted husband, father of five, retired marine and veteran of the Korean War, Leonard was known for his homebuilding talent and love of playing cards. Preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Clifford Birdsong; sister, Margaret McCleary and brother, JR Birdsong he leaves behind his wife, Dagmar Birdsong; son, Darryl Birdsong (Judy); and daughters: Aundrea Teele, Theresa Morgan-Scheib (Nick), Debbie Cope (John) and Margaret Smith (Randy); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
