Lillian Ida (Lorenz) Hawthorne departed this earth to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, February 3, 2012 in Conroe, TX. She died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Lillian was born on September 16, 1923 in Granville, North Dakota. She graduated from Trinity School of Nursing in Minot, North Dakota in 1944 and worked as a registered nurse for 40 years in California, Texas and Washington, D.C. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Hawthorne, Jr. and her brother, Herman R. Lorenz. She is survived by her sister, Alvina (Lorenz) Doerr of Lafayette, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Debbie Hawthorne of Conroe, TX; son, Steve Hawthorne of Conroe, TX; daughter, Mary Hawthorne of Houston, TX; son, David Hawthorne of Sunnyvale, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Mario Dallaire of Calgary, Alberta; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Toshie Hawthorne of Hiroshima, Japan; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at West Conroe Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Houston National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Conroe Funeral Directors on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
