Linda was a beloved Mother, Wife, Sister, Cousin, Aunt, Grandmother, and Friend. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 11th, 1952 and tragically passed away in Porter, Texas on October 20th, 2014. She is survived by her 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Her oldest daughter Caroline Lanham and husband, Mark and their kids Mark (18) and Ashley (11) from Porter, TX, Jennifer Dickson and husband, Peter and their kids Peter (10) and Benjamin (7) from Salinas, CA, daughter Koryn Farlow and her kids Leighann (18) and Michael (16) from Grass Valley, CA and son Vince DiFranco and Trisha, and their kids Nicholas (3) and Joshua (1) from Chandler, NC. The middle child of three, Linda's family moved to Mountain View, CA in 1957. Living in a city just outside of the beach, she fell in love with the ocean, camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors with her family. She graduated from Awalt High School with her siblings and continued on to De Anza College to pursue a nursing degree. She married Gary Farlow, moved to Utah and together they had a beautiful daughter named Koryn. Even though their marriage ended after a few years, Linda and Gary remained very close friends. Linda and Koryn came back to California and settled in Monterey where Linda met the love of her life, Vincent DiFranco. With Vince's three small children Caroline, Jennifer and Vince, they married and settled in Pacific Grove. Vince and Linda owned and operated "The Stripping Works" in Seaside, CA. After almost a decade of hard work at their successful furniture store, they decided to move to Porter, Texas. Linda worked at H.E.B. for over 15 years as a Store Manager, and she was in charge of their Special Teams when they opened new locations thoughout Texas. She absolutely loved her job, her work, her co-workers, and colleagues. Linda, meaning "pretty one", was so kind, loyal, adventurous, and brave. Even after her husband Vince passed a few years ago, she stayed true to her spontaneous nature and visited her family all over the country, bought a motorcycle, and travelled to Costa Rica. Being a full blooded Italian, other than her family and grandkids, cooking was her passion, and cooking for large family get-togethers was her nature. Always so positive, and radiating with happiness and funny sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all that had the honor of knowing her. She is also survived by her brothers Victor Gallicchio, Pat Hord, Dennis Hord, Glenn Hord, Terry Hord, and Duane Hord, and only sister Diane Larson. Along with countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many close friends and extended family. Linda loved and was loved. She will be truly missed. Services will be held on Satuarday, October 25th, 2014 at 2:00pm at Green Lawn Memorial Funeral Home in New Caney, TX. Following the service, her celebration of life will be held at Bokeeters 16945 Fm 1314 Rd, Conroe, TX.
