Lorraine Anita Faubion Carr, born on July 20, 1943 in Bassett, Nebraska, passed away in Conroe, TX on September21, 2017 at the age of 74.

Preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Donna Faubion and her husband Charles Malon Carr, Lorraine is survived by her loving children; Wes and Sharene Carr of Conroe, TX, Julie and Michael Garza of Frederick, OK, and Becky and Tony Riggs of Conroe, TX. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Brittney and Eric Udell, Arron, Ryan, and Jason Riggs, and Ethan and Liana Garza; and her great-grandchild Brady Udell. Lorraine had many gifts. Her humor, wit and creativity among them. She worked as a teacher of English, Speech, and Drama for several years before she left teaching behind to help her husband start and run their successful automotive paint and supply business. She took over as editor of the senior newsletter The Afterglow, a publication of the Church of God 7 th day, after the passing of her mother, Donna. Through the newsletter she touched so many lives with her editorials and inspirational writings.

Her flair for the dramatic was evident in her many performances. As a young girl, Lorraine memorized Dr. Seuss' Horton Hatches an Egg and performed it from memory to countless children, enhanced by her dramatic faces and silly voices for every character.

Lorraine had a special bond with each of her children and raised them to have a strong faith in the Lord and in family. Lorraine LOVED to play games with her family, but they HATED playing with her because she usually won! One of her favorite things to do was gather all of the family around the piano or guitar and sing hymns. Lorraine brought music to every life she touched. As a child she began singing at church tent revivals with her parents. She loved to praise the Lord with music and taught her children to sing and harmonize. She enjoyed singing with her husband, Charles, and helped many people worship through song. Those who knew her best knew that she was always humming some tune that sometimes only she would recognize.

But in all these things, what we will remember the most of Lorraine is her love for the Lord and her passion for bringing others to know Him, too.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like request donations be made to the Church of God, 7 th Day in her name.

Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe,Texas, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Graveside Service for Lorraine Anita Faubion Carr will be held at Cashner Funeral Home's Garden Park Cemetery on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 3:00pm.
