Lorraine Davidson Sorum, born January 7, 1926, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2015. Born in Houston, TX, she was raised in the Heights, graduating from Reagan High School, where she was a RedCoat.

In 1943, during WWII, she met Seaman Lyle Sorum while they both were waiting in line at the N. Main movie theater. Two years later they wed and spent the next 70 years together.

Prior to starting a family, Lorraine worked as a draftsman at Shell Oil. She was a God loving, family woman who was a charter member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Houston. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting, making stained glass, sewing, and playing bridge.

In 1982, the Sorums moved to Georgetown, TX, where Lorraine pursued golfing, gardening, traveling, and singing in the choir at Faith Lutheran Church. After 23 years, they left the town they loved to move back to the Houston area. In 2005, the Sorums settled in The Woodlands, TX to be close to family, joining The Woodlands United Methodist Church.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Lyle; her four children, Laurie Clark, Luanne Lewinski & husband, Tim, Skip Sorum & wife, Cindy, Linda Loukanis; five grandchildren, Blake Schollaert & wife, Melissa, Courtney Clark, Paige Loukanis, Kellie Price & husband, Jacob, Mitchell Loukanis.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at The Woodlands United Methodist Church Robb Chapel in The Woodlands TX. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saving Grace Maternity Home, a non-profit founded by Skip & Cindy Sorum for single homeless teens in an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. www.savinggracematernityhome.org, 21830 NW Cherry Lane, Hillsboro, OR 97124.
